Sprouted Moong Dhal

Since i knew sprouts are highly nutrious.Tried the below recipe from "chefinyou".

Ingredients:

Moong dhal-2 Cups
Salt
Red Chillies-7 to 8
Mustard
Urad Dhal
Coconut(Optional)-2 Tsp

Method:

1.Soak Moong dhal for about 12 to 15 hours.
2.Drain the water and transfer it to a casserole and leave the whole night so it will start to sprout in the warm inside it.
3.In a pan temper mustard, urad dhal and after they splutter add red chillies.
4.Add coconut if needed and fry till the raw smell of coconut goes off.
5.Add sprouted moong dhal, salt and mix well.

This is a highly nutrious snack. If you dont like the raw taste of Moong dhal then steam for 1 or 2 min.

  7. Green moong dal is tasty on its own but when sprouted, it adds a whole other layer of flavor and creates a unique texture to the dish. You could easily make this dish using sprouted lentils or any other sprouted dal you prefer, or apply the same recipe to make any bean, lentil or daal of your choice.

  10. I used the wrong split peas and it was much more "Earthy" flavored than what I would have liked. Fun to make though. Love the fresh Daal!
